Pro Lifetime License offline computer

Thanks for developing the Notes Foss software and I just bought a Pro licence to support it and get access to the Pro features. It would like to use it on a permanent offline computer as portable app on a USB stick (https://portableapps.com/apps/office/notes-portable).

Right now I notice that the licence key needs an internet connection to activate the key. So I went to an online computer with notes-portable-app on USB stick to activate the Pro key. That works, but after restarting the notes-portable-app on my offline computer the Pro License is no longer active.

Is there any solution to make it working? Hopefully you can help me out.

Hi there @albertheres!

We are currently not storing the database and license data in the same folder with the executable, so I'm afraid it won't be truly "portable" in that sense. The activation logic has 7 days of grace period - meaning 7 days where you can go offline before requiring an internet connection. Do you have programming skills? You can simply compile the app yourself (the Pro version is automatically turned on) and you'll get an executable that is without any license check.

But this still won't make it a totally "portable" app in the sense that the database and settings will not be stored with the executable.

Hi thanks for your feedback and explanation why this is not working.

Unfortunately I'm not a programmer. Self compiling is a step too far for me. That makes me buying a pro license.

I would be nice if there is a solution in future updates without self compiling. But, I can understand if thats not possible.
